I used to receive donation forms in my mailbox every week and most of them will end up in the trash bin. It’s not that I don’t want to make a donation but I was simply too lazy to do it until this day came…

I received a donation form from the Methodist Welfare Services. As I was walking to the lift, I took a quick glance at the form. I saw the picture of a sickly old woman in the nursing home. I read her story and my heart grieved. She was abandoned by her own children. With no savings or any source of income, she couldn’t afford to pay for her own living and medical expenses.

I felt so depressed after reading her story. I can’t imagine how I will survive if I grow old, homeless, sick and all alone like her.

I took my cheque book; I filled up the form and I wrote a cheque to make a donation. All it takes is just THREE minutes. I realized that it wasn’t difficult at all.

From that day onwards, I will make a donation every time I receive a donation form in my mailbox. A little kindness goes a long way to brighten someone’s day and to make the world a better place. Let’s do a good deed and spread some happiness while we can!
