The RSAF Open House 2011 was held last weekend at the Paya Lebar Air Base. Did you join the event? There are aerial display, aircraft rides, performances and weapon system display at the event.
The weather was blazing hot that day. We were well-prepared with our water bottles, sun block, a cap for Little Edison and an umbrella for me. We took a taxi from our home at 2:30pm, and we reached the air base in about 20 minutes. Luckily, we didn’t drive as the car park was full and there were so many cars parked illegally along the road.
The crowd was overwhelming, not to mention the HEAT. Duh! In less than ten minutes, I felt like making a detour to somewhere else. Seriously, I can’t imagine myself baking under the hot sun to see airplanes. Little Edison started to yell, “I don’t like this place. I want to go home!”
It was just too crowded and hot. Little Edison and I were not interested in the static airplanes display, so we went to the indoor exhibition hall. Arghh, finally we felt the air-conditioner here. What a relief!
The Hubby went to see the line-up aircrafts by himself. Here are some pictures taken by him. He came back a few shades darker. Hee!
Little Edison was too delighted to see the fun-filled carnival hall. There are more than 20 game stalls and inflatable playground. He was happily bouncing his time away at the playground. This hall is also air-conditioned, so I happily spend my time with him.
Here are some pictures of Little Edison at the carnival hall.
We left the event at about 6pm (it was closing at 7pm). There were hundreds of people queuing for the free shuttle busses. We had to walk out of the air base and luckily, we managed to get a cab home.
Overall, Little Edison had a really great time at the carnival. Not too much of airplanes for us though.
