Staycation at Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa (Part 2)

July 3, 2013January 30, 2019

Continued from … (Part 1)

Perhaps the most beautiful part of this hotel room is its bathroom. It has a bathtub and standing shower, complete with premium Shangri-La toiletries including facial cottons, junior tooth brush, bath salts and hair band.

The bathroom has a real ‘wow factor’. Take a look!

The other attraction of this resort is the Children’s Club Cool Zone, one of the largest kids club in Sentosa that offers more than a hundred square meters of fun with crafts, games, kids’ meals and a three-story tree house slide.

Admission to Cool Zone is free for in-house guests, and for children aged 5 to 12. It offers children’s meals and three activity centres (Toots Club, Craft Zone and Game Zone) that are fully supervised by the hotel’s experienced recreational team. So, you can basically leave your kids with them, then sneak out and have some fun!

Cool Zone

Cool Zone features a huge slide that winds from level three of the resort down into a pool of colourful balls on level one. Little Edison couldn’t get enough of the slide! I call it a ‘paradise for kids’. They can spend the entire day here, interact with other kids, participate in the activities planned for them, and get their complimentary meals as well.

In addition to the Cool Zone, there are water slides, children’s pool and a fun splash water playground. Families can also enjoy The Flying Trapeze and Sea Sports Centre to maximize the fun.

We booked our room under the Rasa Family Fun package, and it includes buffet dinner at Silver Shell Cafe inclusive of free-flowing soft drinks, chilled juices, house wine or beer. I must say that this is one of the best buffets that I’ve ever had.

I didn’t take any pictures of the food because I was too focused in my meal. I had three big plates of chilli crabs all by myself, and got myself nearly drunk from the wine. Thankfully, we didn’t need to drive home that night. So, we had a fantastic drinking session that night.

Lastly, we mused at the relatively high price tag for the room – at SGD560++ per night. If you book a room at RWS, you’ll be given free tickets to the Universal Studios, which I think is more worth it. Again, we have been to the Universal Studios many times and we don’t feel like going there again.

So, Shangri-La is indeed a perfect choice for us. We really enjoyed our stay. Good food, impeccable service, great fun and fantastic bonding time with the family. The resort is big and beautiful, you’ll never feel crowded and rushed.
