I’m sorry for the lack of update as I was away spending Christmas in Ipoh with my family. It was a good break from work and blog. I’m sure all of you had a wonderful time this Christmas too.
Today, I want to share with you some of my favourite beauty products. I’ve been meaning to write this post since last month, but it keeps slipping out of my mind every time I had the chance to. So now that the boy is asleep, there are some quiet moments for me to put my words together.
1. NeoStrata Triple Firming Neck Cream
Let’s admit it – being a woman is difficult. Looking good and maintaining youthfulness require a lot of time and patience. We need to take care of our body from top to toe. Even if we have a smooth wrinkle-free complexion, the folds and lines on our neck and décolletage may be the culprit to reveal our true age. As a matter of fact, this area is often neglected in our skincare regime.
Recently, I started using NeoStrata Triple Firming Neck Cream. I like NeoStrata, particularly their anti-aging products. The benefits of this neck cream includes: 1) lift and firm sagging skin, 2) reduce discolouration and pigmentation, and 3) reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
I apply this cream twice a day on my neck after shower. It absorbs quickly, leaving no stickiness and greasy feel after the application. After a month, I noticed some improvements in the skin firmness around my neck and décolletage (it’s quite amazing!).
I’ve yet to see improvements in skin tone, but I guess this will take a bit longer to see the results. So, I’ll continue to use it in hopes of more noticeable improvements.
NeoStrata Triple Firming Neck Cream retails at SGD$81.00 (before GST), and available at selected Watsons, Guardian and NTUC Unity pharmacies. If you’re looking for a good neck cream, I recommend that you give this a try.
2. JANMARINI Age Intervention Dark Circle Eye Defence
I bought this eye-cream from an aesthetic clinic in Singapore because the nurse kept raving about how good it is. This new generation of eye cream works to reduce the appearance of under eye circles and wrinkles through technologies directly targeted toward each of the primary causes – blood leakage, iron discoloration, inflammation, thin and fragile skin, and pigmentation.
Each jar comes with 60 capsules. I apply it once at night, using one capsule for both eyes (it’s more than enough). One jar lasts for two months. I feel that the cream is a bit too rich – it feels a bit greasy after application. Nonetheless, since it is to be applied at night time, it doesn’t bother me so much.
After two months, I saw some improvements. The fine lines under my eyes are smoothened out and the skin around my eyes are well hydrated. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work for my dark eye circle yet (which is my primary concern).
So I purchased the second jar from eBay (~30% cheaper than aesthetic clinic). My dark eye circles are gradually fading by the 3rd month, and I’m sure to keep this eye cream as my night regime.
3. Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder Foundation
I’ve been using MAC powder foundation for years. Recently, I was tempted to try out the new Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder Foundation – after seeing their advertisement on magazine.
I rarely use liquid foundation because it feels quite heavy and looks cakey on my face. So, I only use powder foundation with light to medium coverage that gives a natural finish to even out my skin tone and minimize the appearance of pores.
My recent discovery of Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder Foundation instantly turned me into a fan! It’s incredibly lightweight (weightless is certainly no exaggeration), and feels so smooth and comfortable like my own skin.
This creamy, cashmere-like powder delivers a polished finish and lasting wear. It blends seamlessly onto my skin and conceals imperfections, fine lines and pores for a finish that stays fresh and shine-free throughout the day. I’m so in love with it!
This foundation is available in 20 shades. I’m using Natural and it matches closely to my own skin colour. Perhaps, I will choose a shade that is one tone lighter next time – as I prefer my face to look brighter.
Priced at $64 (compact case excluded), this powder foundation is certainly a keeper. Bobbi Brown – I will be back for more.
4. Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi
Besides my Clarisonic cleansing brush, the Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi is one of my favourite beauty gadgets.
You might have already seen it at Watsons; this is basically an electric hard skin remover to be used on our feet. Scholl Express Pedi is shaped like an electric shaver, and it feels nice to hold with the power switch under the thumb for easy operation.
The special roller surface removes dry and hard skin effortlessly and efficiently. The first time I used it, I was a bit sceptical. I was extremely careful in order not to over-file and cause bleeding.
When I started moving it around my heels with medium pressure, it was actually quite safe and gentle. My worries were instantly washed away.
Scholl Express Pedi leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth from the first use. I’ve been using it once a week for maintenance and it’s really paying off. I’m happy to part with my foot files and pumice stones.
Well, that’s my current beauty obsessions. If you have any fantastic product to recommend, please share with me too. Here’s wishing all of you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
