Dual Yellow Brightening Laser at ASTIQUE Aesthetic Clinic

March 28, 2016January 26, 2019

This time, I’m really determined to continue with my laser treatments to get rid of my pigmentations. I’m glad I did it. 🙂

Pigmentations is one of the skin care concerns that bothers me the most. I always envy those who can go out bare-faced and still look good. I’ve to camouflage my pigmentations, skin discolourations and pores with make-up before I go out.

ASTIQUE Aesthetic Clinic

Since I started my laser treatments at ASTIQUE Aesthetic Clinic four months ago, I’ve been very satisfied with the results. I had three sessions of Radiance Laser, and my pigmentations have lightened tremendously.

Radiance Laser involves the use of Medlite C6 and CoolTouch CT3 plus lasers, as well as IPL therapy. The Medlite C6 laser is used to revitalise skin texture and treat pigmentation with minimal complications. The CoolTouch CT3 plus laser is recognised as a non-ablative laser that diminishes the look of wrinkles. It is also commonly used for pimple scar treatment. You can read about my previous post on Radiance Laser HERE.

Dual Yellow Brightening Laser

During my forth visit this month, I was introduced to Dual Yellow Brightening Laser, which is the latest addition to Astique’s non-invasive laser treatments.

Using a combination of yellow and green lights, the Dual Yellow Brightening Laser can combat a wide range of skin concerns such as dark spots and pigmentations due to aging or sun damage, scars, melasma, stretch marks and acne. With fast and precise treatment, Dual Yellow delivers great control and better outcomes with reduced skin damage and discomfort.

The green light in Dual Yellow targets melanin which causes pigmented lesions like freckles, sun spots and age spots or skin discolouration like melasma. These conditions could be the result of genetics, sun damage or aging.

The yellow light, on the other hand, promotes collagen growth and reduces small red blood vessels (facial capillaries). This has an overall tightening, firming and rejuvenating effect on skin.

What happened during the treatment?

My skin was thoroughly cleansed by a trained therapist, and she then applied numbing cream on my jaw area but this was for my Botox injections later. Dual Yellow Laser is painless and doesn’t require any numbing. Ten minutes later, after removing the numbing cream, the therapist placed laser-protective covers over my eyes and applied some transparent gel on my face (similar to ultrasound gel) that has a slight cooling effect.

The laser procedure was performed by Dr. Celine Leong. A yellow laser beam was directed at my face. It is bright (as you can see from this picture), that’s why protective covers are required.

Dual Yellow Laser

It looks a little scary too, but I assure you I didn’t feel any pain at all. I felt the light moving around my face with slight prickling sensation. It took only 15 minutes to complete the treatment. During the treatment, Dr. Celine Leong constantly checked if I was feeling alright and if I felt any pain. She’s truly a very gentle and caring doctor.

After the treatment, the therapist washed off the gel from my face.

What to expect immediately after the treatment?

Not only is the treatment fast, Dual Yellow Brightening Laser has no downtime at all. Immediately after the treatment, I felt that my complexion was instantly brightened. There was no redness and scabbing at all.

For all my previous laser treatments, the freckles would crust up, formed a scab and fell off within a week. After the scabs fell off, my skin was extremely smooth and the dark spots lightened by at least 20-30%.

The main advantage of Dual Yellow, however, is that it doesn’t leave any scabbing at all. Make-up can be applied straight away, but I left the clinic bare-faced. I resumed my regular activities thereafter since there is no healing time required.

How fast can I see the results?

Improvements are gradual, I would say. For the first week after my treatment, my skin felt slightly dry so I had to properly moisturise it every day. After a week, my skin is clearer, smoother, brighter and tighter.

These are the pictures taken three months after my Radiance Laser.

My pigmentations have lightened tremendously. My skin (especially the cheek area) is smoother and tighter. The laser treatments have also shrunk my pores. I can’t wait for my second Dual Yellow Laser! 🙂

Botox for Jaw Reduction

After my Dual Yellow Laser, I proceeded with Botox injection for jaw reduction (facial slimming). Actually, this was my second Botox injection. I had my first trial in early 2015, and I was so impressed with the results.

The results lasted for about 6 months, but I didn’t redo it because I was too busy with works. After more than a year now, the effects are completely gone and I’m back to my round and chubby face.

Botox works by relaxing the jaw muscle and reducing its size, thereby softening the contour of the jaw and shaping the lower part of the face. It is a well-known technique that is effective in reducing the width of the lower face for people like me with prominent jaw muscles.

This is me, all ready for my Botox injection. Go go go!

Botox at ASTIQUEThe actual bottle of Botox looks exactly like the pillow that I’m holding, haha!

The Botox injection was performed by Dr. Celine Leong. Since I already had numbing cream, I didn’t feel any pain at all. But I understand that Botox injection is rather painless, thus many patients come during lunch hour for a quick fix even without numbing cream.

Botox is administered with an extremely fine needle directly into the targeted facial muscle using a precise technique. There is no downtime at all, and normal daily activities can be resumed immediately. In fact, I don’t even see any holes on my skin after the injection.

Side effects for Botox are extremely rare. I don’t feel any side effects at all.

It takes 2 weeks to a month to see the full effect, and results last about 6 months or more. I need to repeat the treatment every 6 months to maintain the effect. I understand that with repeated treatments, the results will last longer each time.

I’ll be back for my review two weeks later, and I shall update my progress again.

Crystal Tomato

Crystal Tomato

Dr. Celine Leong recommended Crystal Tomato supplements and Crystal Clear Skin Clarity Cream to speed up the whitening and clearing up of pigmentations.

Containing Crystal Tomato® Carotenoids which have been scientifically proven to offer skin whitening and brightening benefits, this oral supplement is a safe and convenient way to healthier and more radiant skin. It’s also an anti-oxidants to protect against free radical damage caused by environmental aggressors.

One box lasts for a month, and I’m into my third box already. I rarely take beauty supplements, but I really like Crystal Tomato. I feel that my skin is more even-toned and brighter now.

Crystal Clear Skin Clarity Cream is a depigmentation cream for all skin types. It inhibits the enzyme mechanism that produces melanin and prevent the formation of new melanin spots. It’s best to be applied twice a day, but I felt that it’s a tad too oily for my skin, so I used it once at night.

Crystal Tomato and Dual Yellow Brightening Laser are my perfect combination to achieve brighter, clearer, fairer and luminous skin!
