I’ve always been a fan of snow skin mooncakes. These adorable bite-sized mooncakes come in a variety of colours and exciting flavours, and I love to eat them chilled!

Evelyn at Eatzi Gourmet is so kind to send me a box of snow skin mooncakes and a cappuccino light coffee sponge cake for review. I’m so thrilled. At the end of my review, I’ll also share with you the discount codes if you’re keen to order them.

Firstly, these are the mini snow skin mooncakes that come in a box of 8pcs with 2pcs of each flavours:

1. Raspberry Cheese – combination of raspberries and cream cheese with diced raspberries bits.

2. Black Sesame – black sesame filling, bedded with “Tudor Gold Truffle” with toasted black sesame seed.

3. Pine Nuts with Bitter Orange – a unique balance of toasted pine nuts with bitter orange filling.

4. Hazelnut Macadamia – combination of hazelnut filling with toasted macadamia nuts, bedded with “Tudor Gold Truffle”.

They really taste as good as they look. The mooncake skin is fragrant, chewy and soft, while the fillings are rich and flavourful. It’s priced at $35.80 per box.

Secondly, this is the cappuccino light coffee sponge cake – one of the items listed under their all-time favourites. My mouth is watering now as I’m writing this review as this cake is absolutely wonderful – one of the nicest sponge cakes that I’ve ever tasted!

Being a coffee lover, I adore anything coffee-flavoured from ice-cream to chocolates and cakes. Words like ‘mocha’ or ‘cappuccino’ will certainly convince me to try them.

Little Edison, who is obsessed with cake-cutting after his birthday bash at school last week helped me to cut this lovely cake. He chomped down a big piece of the cake and said, “Mama, this cake is yummy!”

The sponge itself is coffee-flavoured, laced with marscapone mousse without alcohol. It is beautifully soft and moist, with an excellent light and airy texture that literally melts in my mouth. The mousse has a slightly more intense coffee flavour and it’s absolutely delicious – not too sweet, I would say.

The design of the cake is simple yet pleasing to the eyes. It is priced at $22 for 0.5kg and $33.50 for 1kg.

Now, let me share with you the promotional codes if you’re keen to order from Eatzi Gourmet.

For non festive cakes, you can get a 15% discount (valid till 18 Sep 2011) and for mooncakes, you can get a 10% discount (valid till 11 Sep 2011). Simply use these promotional codes to enjoy discounts on your orders:

  • Non festive cakes, use JPA01
  • Mooncakes, use JPA02

Happy shopping and enjoy your cakes!

This is not a sponsored review.

I got to know Chin Woon from MyNameSticker since two years ago when I was searching for cartoon name stickers for Little Edison. That was in Dec 2009, a month before our boy started his first year in Pre-Nursery.

I was looking for name stickers for his water bottle, bag, stationery etc. I don’t intend to buy those extra durable but expensive stickers because ultimately, we won’t be using the same water bottle or stationery for more than six months or so. I need something cheap (ideally not more than $10) and moderately durable.

I was glad to find MyNameSticker. I ordered name stickers with assorted cartoons from Chin Woon. I was impressed with the quality of the stickers. His service is very good and fast too — I usually receive my orders within 2 days after payment.

After using the name stickers for two years now, I can say that the quality is quite good for its price. It can last about three months before they start to peel off slightly at the edges. It’s time to change a new sticker! We have Dora, Pooh, Tare Panda, Doraemon, Snoopy, Astro Boy, Mickey and so on.

They also have plain color stickers that are very useful in printing addresses, greetings, labels etc. I print greeting stickers for our boy’s Teachers’ Day presents and birthday goodie bags next month. It saves me a lot of time as I don’t need to scribble his name on the wrappers or buy separate greeting cards. All I need to do is just to peel and paste! It’s so easy and neat too.

If you’re looking for stickers, you can try out MyNameSticker. Chin Woon will be super helpful and patient with your queries. Just let him know what you need. It’s good stuff, that’s why I want to recommend to you.

Now, who needs stickers?

#1: Cartoon Name Stickers
# 2: Labels for birthday goodie bags
# 3: Labels for Teachers’ Day presents

Two weeks ago, I received an e-mail from Sophie asking whether I’d like to test out their new product called Kanten Clay Studio.

Well, I’ve always been a fan of clay modeling. It’s an excellent way to develop fine motor skills in young children. It also encourages imagination and creativity besides increasing their attention span.

So I said YES, and they sent over two jars of Kanten Clay for me and Little Edison to check out.

As an introduction, Kanten Clay Studio is a Japanese product that emphasizes on its superior quality and safety standards to meet the demand of today’s parents who are concerned about hazardous artificial chemicals in toys. Kanten Clay is made of agar, food colouring and brine. That’s why it is all-natural and safe for our little ones to play with.

Kanten Clay can be purchased in jars of seven individual colours – white, red, yellow, blue, pink, orange and green, or in a set of four colours – white, blue, red and yellow. Of course, we can mix them up to produce more colours!

I opened the jar and took the clay out. My first impression was that it is quite hard, as compared to Play-Doh. I peeled it into smaller portions for Little Edison and now, he can easily mould the clay into shapes that he wants.

Next, he dished out all the plastic moulds from his Play-Doh set and started making letters and alphabets with the clay.

What I really like about Kanten Clay is that it’s oil-free and residue-free. I’m amazed that it doesn’t leave a sticky feeling on my hands after touching them. It also doesn’t leave any oily stains on the table after the play.

I used to be busy picking up the residues on the floor after Little Edison played with other brands of clay. If I don’t, the residues will stick on his pants and feet, and later moved on to the sofa, bed etc. The floor also has to be cleaned immediately; otherwise it feels so oily and sticky.

With Kanten Clay, I don’t have to worry anymore. It’s so clean and neat. The clay comes in a small jar, you can easily store the clay into the jar after playing with it.

I also understand that the clay is very long-lasting. It does not dry out or get hard easily. It retains water well, so the clay remains soft and malleable for a long time.

If you’re keen to try out Kanten Clay, you can purchase it online from Sophie & Friends. You can read more information HERE.

All natural. No smell. No sticky feeling. You’ll love it! :)

Babies are easy during the first few months of their lives – I mean when it comes to the shoe department. Since they don’t walk until they’re almost one, they don’t need shoes to support their tiny feet. Socks are good enough to keep their feet warm and snug.

Once they decide it’s time for them to become mobile, we have to make a trip to the shoe store. While there are so many different styles of baby shoes to choose from, do you really know how to choose the right shoes for your baby?

I received an e-mail from Dear Baby, an online shop and local distributor for Little Blue Lamb infant and children leather shoes. I was given a special opportunity to select a few pairs of children shoes to review. That was so cool!

As an introduction, Little Blue Lamb is the ‘house brand’ of a major children shoe manufacturer based in Beijing. They are also the OEM producers for major brands such as Pediped and Jack & Lily.

Now, where should I start? All the Little Blue Lamb (LBL) shoes are completely drool-worthy! Some of them are cuter that the others. But I’ve to keep in mind that I’m not looking for cuteness but the RIGHT pair of shoes for Little Edison.

LBL Blue Justin Junior Shoes

I take a look at our shoe rack. I think I need a pair of blue leather shoes for our weekend outings. So, I choose the Blue Justin Junior Shoes. It’s casual enough for outings and cute enough for a party. Here, let’s take a closer look at this baby.

The shoes uppers are made with high quality calf leather while the inner soft lining is made with premium pigskin (similar to Pediped shoes). The cushioned insoles provide additional comfort for our active toddlers. What I love most about the shoes is that they are super lightweight.

LBL Orange Louis Junior Shoes

Next, I choose a pair of dark-colored leather shoes that are formal enough for classy restaurants and special occasions. This is the Orange Louis Junior Shoes. Stylish and comfort, all-in-one. Our boy looks so grown-up in these shoes; I really like the design. The shoes have Velcro fasteners that make them quick and easy to put on.

LBL Brown Bradley Junior Shoes

Coming up, I get him another pair of junior shoes that are great for all occasions, from a walk in the park, to school and to shopping malls. It’s the Brown Bradley Junior Shoes. The shoes have spacious toe box that gives a better fit according to his feet length and gives room for proper growth and development.

Why I like leather shoes?

Leather is durable and it provides a strong support for our children’s feet. It’s also known as a breathable material that allows the air to circulate around their feet so that they don’t sweat. As a matter of fact, leather shoes are lightweight, soft and slip on easily.

And why I like Little Blue Lamb (LBL) leather shoes?

I recommend LBL leather shoes for all children. They are designed to be very comfortable especially for young walkers and to help foot development! Above all that, they are extremely cute, durable, fashionable and reasonably-priced.

Little Edison is wearing LBL Blue Justin Junior Shoes in US size 9.

Now, let’s hop on to Dear Baby website to check out the different designs of LBL shoes. And the good news is that they’re having GSS sales with up to 30% off on selected designs. Awwww!

One more piece of good news – Dear Baby is offering additional discounts on LBL shoes for all of you. Awww! I heard you!

Get $2 OFF on purchase of one pair or $5 OFF on purchase of two pairs of more. This discount is ON TOP of any existing discounts on Dear Baby website where the shoes are going for 15-30% OFF for GSS.

Simply quote “LBLBB3107” when you purchase any LBL shoes from Dear Baby website. This offer is valid till 31 July 2011.

Happy shopping everyone!

P/S: More exciting news is coming up this week. Stay tuned!

We all fancy Japanese products because of their good quality. They are genuine, practical and creative too! However, it’s not easy to find imported Japanese products in Singapore except for Daiso and Meidi-ya.

Recently, I was invited to review RE-ON online store that specialises in imported Japanese products from infant formula, diapers, children toys, stationery and educational materials to daily household products. RE-ON also carries Japanese brands like Meiji, Snow Brand, Morinaga and Wakodo.

I gladly said YES! BRING IT ON!

As an introduction, Re-on Holdings Limited is a trading company affiliated to a Japanese trading company, Crystal Group. Crystal Group has built a strong reputation through its years of experience in import and export trading in Hong Kong. In order to meet the increasing demand for premium Japanese products in the local market, Re-On constantly sources for the latest products and offer them at the most affordable prices to their customers.

Now, let’s hop on to RE-ON online store and take a look at their products. On the main page, you’ll see the different categories of products available at RE-ON.

Anpanman Corner

I’m particularly attracted to the Anpanman Corner. RE-ON sent this Anpanman Cutlery Set for Little Edison. It consists of a spoon, fork, plate, soup bowl, rice bowl and a drinking cup. A perfect 6-in-1 set! They are beautifully designed, light-weight and they can be easily handled by the little fingers.

Toys

RE-ON also sent this Anpanman Sand Castle Building Set for Little Edison. It has a rake, a scoop, two plactic molds, a watering can and a sand pail. It comes in a plastic carrier with handles that we can easily bring out for our beach outings. They are everything for Little Edison to construct a sandy masterpiece!

Premium Products

Now, let’s take a look at the premium products. It’s the Hello Kitty Air Refreshener! I desperately need one for my car. This will be the 8th Hello Kitty item in my car! It’s cute and smells good too.

Diapers

I received some samples of pull-up pants from RE-ON. This is Kao Merries Walker Pull-up Pants. It’s made of water-absorbent and breathable sheets. Extremely soft, light and comfortable!

If you go for comfort, I’ll highly recommend this brand to you. The quality is superb but the cost is slightly higher than other brands in the supermarket. But again, this is imported product. No doubt, the cost will be a little higher. I don’t mind to pay more as long as the quality is there.

Little Edison loves it too!

Wet Tissues

I have three brands of wet tissues to experiment on – the Unicharm Moony Baby Wet Tissue Ultra-Moist, Pigeon Baby Wet Tissue and Nepia Genki Alcohol-Free Wet Tissues. I love the first one because it’s extremely soft, moist and alcohol-free.

My Summary

Overall, we really like the products from RE-ON. Would I buy and use them again? My answer is YES! I hope you’ll find something good and useful too.

I also like the fact that RE-ON provides free delivery for purchases more than SG$200 to one delivery address. You can order in bulk and have them delivered to your door step. For order below SG$200, a delivery charge of SG$15 will be incurred. Alternatively, you may also visit their warehouse at Tagore Lane.

If you’re already a regular customer at RE-ON, let me know what is your favorite product. I love to hear from you!
