This is certainly one of the BEST powder foundations that I’ve ever tried. KOSE Sekkisei Supreme Powder Foundation evens out uneven skin tone, makes pores less visible and brightens skin.

There was a 20% off storewide sale at Metro last weekend. I quickly stock-up two refill packs. It is $48/box after discount (usual price $60). Total savings – $24!

I have a confession to make today.

I seriously think that I’ve reached an age where skin care is QUEEN and any product that can help to battle fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin would get my attention.

Besides skin care products, I also believe in ‘beauty from within’. That simply means paying attention to what we put into our body and not just what we put on it. The key is to achieve great skin by staying hydrated, eating a balanced diet (especially food that is rich in anti-oxidants) and taking beauty supplements to tackle specific beauty concerns.

Recently, I went to Eu Yan Sang to purchase some health supplement for my mother-in-law. I saw their premium concentrated bird’s nest series on the shelf. When I saw these words on the packaging – best rejuvenating supplement and maintain glowing completion, I was totally sold!

In our Chinese history, the empresses and concubines ate bird’s nest for health and beauty. Bird’s nest is one of the best tonic foods trusted by generations. But is it really that good as compared to those collagen supplements that we have now?

Now, I’m wondering which one is better… Bird’s Nest or Collagen Supplement? What do you think?

Clarins is promoting a shaping facial lift lipo-drain serum, especially designed for Asian women to “lift” and rejuvenate the face. It contains plant extracts that promise to eliminate excess fat, activate drainage and microcirculation to relieve puffiness. It also contains Vitamin C derivatives that help to control pigmentation.

I was so tempted to try out this product after watching its TV commercial. Have you seen the TV commercial? If not, here’s the clip from YouTube. Enjoy!

Amazing, isn’t it?

I ordered the serum and two others products to try out – Clarins White Plus Renewing Gentle Exfoliator and Pore Minimizing Serum. They were delivered to my office this morning. Yay! Can’t wait to try them.

If the results are good, I’ll write up a review on my blog. =)

I wrote about My Beauty Diary face mask in my blog six months ago. Today, I’m still very fond of this mask. Have you tried them yet?

There is a lot of variety of face masks in My Beauty Diary. It may be difficult to pick the most suitable mask to address our skincare concerns. I have combination skin with oily T-zone. I look for face masks with these effects – firming, moisturizing, whitening, brightening, pore tightening and oil control.

These are my top five picks (in random order):

  • Apple Mask – for pore-tightening
  • Cherry Chocolate Mask – for whitening and firming
  • Black Pearl Mask – for firming, regenerating and moisturizing
  • Red Wine Mask – for brightening skin complexion and improving blood circulation
  • Cooling Mask – to refresh, soothe and hydrate tired skin

The Cherry Chocolate Mask is a new product and I learned that it’s a limited edition too. I really need to stock-up before they are gone. It smells like chocolate, really. It uses the new and improved mask sheet – thinner and stick better to our skin. It is heavily saturated with essence too. After 20 minutes, the mask sheet is still wet. It really makes my skin brighter the next morning.

I love the Red Wine Mask as it has a fantastic smell. You’re right; it has the sweet smell of wine. Yummy! It contains moisturizer, antioxidants, skin calmer but without the irritants. After the first use, my skin is moisturized and slightly brightens in the morning. After a few applications, I can feel overall improvement in skin translucency. It didn’t cause any break-outs.

The Cooling Mask is a must-have for my tired days. It gives a cooling sensation from the beginning to the end. It contains witch hazel to soothe our tired skin, menthol and peppermint for the cooling sensation and other ingredients to soften and hydrate. After the application, it instantly revitalizes my tired skin. It is also great to be used when our skin is overly exposed to the sun.

I use this mask at night after cleansing and toning my face. I leave it on for 20 minutes. Most of the time when I remove the mask, it is still wet. I dab the essence from the mask onto my face and neck. After the essence is fully absorbed, I’ll apply my night cream (if I’m still awake).

I bought the masks from a local online store called Sunnanz.

Frizzy hair is a pain in the butt; I know what a nightmare it can be to find suitable nourishing hair products to save our frizzy and unmanageable hair.

Do you know what actually causes the frizz? High humidity, dryness, split ends, static, product build-up and a bad haircut are the primary causes to frizzy hair. To prevent frizz, using the right shampoo, conditioner and leave-in treatment or serum are crucial.

These are the products that I’m using, and they are the best frizz-fighting products that I’ve ever tried:

From left:

  1. L’OREAL Professional liss ultime shine perfecting serum
  2. L’OREAL Professional liss ultime smoothing treatment for unmanageable hair
  3. Cure Pod home leave-in treatment (from Phase Hairdressing)
  4. Hair Rebuilder (from Phase Hairdressing)
  5. HERGEN Hair Salon Concept leave-in treatment for color, treated, permed and stressed hair (from Jean Yip)
  6. BIO TRAITMENT Repair Mask (from Jean Yip)

I use BIO TRAITMENT repair mask (#6) as my hair conditioner. This mask is amazing and I would highly recommend it. Since it is a hair mask, the texture is thick. I mix it with water in another tub (80% mask + 20% water) and I use it as my daily hair conditioner. It really nourishes and moisturizes my long hair.

I also use it as hair mask during the weekends. I apply a generous amount onto my hair and leave it for 30 minutes before rinsing it off. Note: when I use it as hair mask, I don’t mix it with water. Hair mask is meant to be thick so that it will not drip when you leave it on your hair.

I guarantee you will love this hair mask! My hair feels so soft after shower and with minimal tangles. Easy to comb and also less breakage! This hair mask is available at Jean Yip salon, priced at $92 for a 1000ml bottle. One bottle lasts me for about 3 months with daily use.

I have four different types of leave-in treatment that I use on alternate days (#2 to #5). The best of among the four brands is Cure Pod home leave-in treatment (#3) that I bought from Phase Hairdressing salon. It provides moisture without weighing my hair down. My hair remains soft, frizz-free and light throughout the day! Alternatively, you can also try HERGEN Hair Salon Concept leave-in treatment (#5), $28 per bottle, from Jean Yip salon.

Leave-in treatment is the most important step in my hair care routine that I’ll never leave the house without it.

As the final step, I apply one pump of L’OREAL Professional liss ultime serum (#1) onto my hair for a shiny and polished finished.

Hopelessly frizzy hair? Bad hair days? Er, not me. :)
