I bought myself a Christmas present a week ago. It arrived last Friday, and I was truly delighted. Well, actually I buy presents for myself all year round. Christmas is just another excuse for me to shop. I’m in a festive mood now. Christmas present makes me happy!

This is it – my new Coach Bleeker Signature Tote Handbag in Plum/Brown. A roomy and light-weight multi-function tote with the classic look of Coach, I simply have to buy it the first moment I saw it on a blogshop.

I’m amazed by how much stuff I can throw into this tote and how sturdy it is. As I go to work this morning, I pack all my usual handbag stuff, my lunch box, an umbrella and my make-up pouch in this bag. It doesn’t feel heavy at all!

I’m so glad to find this awesome bag! And I’m happy to recommend it to you too!

BB Cream

I’ve heard of BB cream a zillion times now, but I have no idea what it is. Since I have no interest in it, I don’t even bother to find out until my recent visit to The Face Shop. The salesgirl kept promoting the product to me. I was a little confused if it’s actually the same as mineral make-up.

As I googled to read more on BB cream, I realized that it is actually one of the hottest beauty product in Asia now. BB Cream (read: Blemish Balm Cream) started off as a soothing treatment balm that dermatologists use on patients who have underwent laser skin treatment. BB Cream can help to shield, protect and regenerate delicate skin. Soon after, Korean celebrities started using this cream which sparked off a craze because of its excellent results.

BB cream has the advantages of both a makeup and skincare product. It can even out skin tone, camouflage under eye circles, acne scars and add radiance to the skin without the heavy mask-like effects of a foundation. Prolonged used of the product will also help improve the overall texture of the skin and fade acne scars. It is made of natural ingredients, thus it doesn’t clog pores.

Some of the popular brands of BB cream include Skin79, BRTC (available at Watsons/Guardian), Dr. Jart, Gowoonsesang, Hanskin, Missha (available at SaSa), Etude and The Face Shop. It should be applied after our cleansing routine, toner and moisturizer. I would assume that it works like a tinted moisturizer – a nude make-up that blends into our skin tone giving us a natural and healthy complexion. Correct me if I’m wrong!

I’m still very satisfied with my current DiorSkin X4 Control pore refining compact, with excellent sebum control as well as UV protection. I guess I won’t be using the BB cream at the moment, unless somebody tells me that I must give it a try.

Is anyone of you using BB cream now? I would love to hear your reviews or comments on this product.

World VisionI read about World Vision child sponsorship program on the newspaper couple of days ago. I was deeply touched.

There are many children in under-developed countries that are in desperate need of help – healthcare, education, clothes, goods or simply living a no-hunger life. The help can come in many forms – food, clothes, sponsorship, medicine, and perhaps the handiest, money. All these contributions will help these children to live a better life.

Besides child sponsorship, this charitable organization also works on long-term projects such as emergency relief, helping the people living in poverty, children and families infected by AIDS etc.

I seriously considered whether I should sponsor a child through World Vision. I’m not wealthy myself, but if I practice a little bit of frugality or make a little change in my lifestyle, I would be able to make that commitment every month.

However, I’m a very emotional person. I’m worried that if anything happens to my sponsored child and I’m unable to help him/her due to our geographical distance, I will be devastated. I do not want such emotions to affect my current family life.

However, as I checked the World Vision website today, I realized that I have plenty of ways to make my contribution even without sponsoring a child (directly). I can make monthly donation to their disaster response fund, child and family health fund, child education fund etc. or simply by donating a rabbit for just $16.

All we have to do is to register as a World Vision donor through its website. Payment can be made by credit card. In addition, I can help to promote their Life-Changing Gift Catalogue by spreading the word on my blog. Check out the banner on my blog now!

Together, let’s provide a little help to transform the lives of these children and families for a better!

Edison - 27 months

Toddler years are busy years, no one can deny that. Approaching 27 months old, Little Edison is always as busy as a bee. This month, he talks a lot too. Sometimes, he talks non-stop and he expects us to respond to him. Sometimes, he is very quiet and he entertains himself with his toy cars.

His behavior can be notoriously erratic too. He can turn from a lovable cutie to an aggressive little tyke within minutes. Anger management is what we are training him now. He shouldn’t shout or yell at all times. We established some simple rules and regulations for him i.e. he must hold our hands when he walks on the road; he must wear shoes outdoor etc.

At this point of time, he is still very positive about going to school. However, he is still reluctant to put on his school uniform! We bought a new schoolbag, water bottles, lunch boxes, shoes and lots of name stickers for him. We are all ready to send him to school next year!

Little Edison is quite an affectionate boy. When I say “Sayang mommy”, he will give me a soft touch on my face or shoulder. I taught him only once and now he says “I love mommy” every day. Before leaving his grandparents’ house at night, he will definitely say goodbye and good night to everyone.

Now, he is going through a picky-eating phase. When I remind him to eat his meals properly, he replies me “spit out!” He is unlikely to try new food and he is also bored with his current food. I just hope that he will resume his normal eating habits soon.

MULA N abacus

I finally bought it! Thanks to Nicole for her wonderful recommendation.

This wooden abacus is the best tool to teach our children the basics of mathematics. For the beginners, they can learn to count from one to ten and gradually move on to twenty, thirty and so on. They can also learn to count by two, by five and by ten. There are just too many fun ways to learn counting with it.

This wooden abacus comes with colorful beads too. Besides learning counting, they can also learn the colors. I wanted to buy it for so long, but I kept forgetting.

Hubby finally bought it from Ikea today. MULA N abacus, $15.00 from Ikea. Check it out!
