The busy days in December have zoomed right passed me, and I’m now relaxing at my parent’s home in Ipoh. It feels so good being pampered by my parents again!

I took a flight home with Little Edison two days ago. It was my very first time traveling out of the country alone with our boy as V is unable to join us on this trip.

Thankfully, it all went well and we arrived home safely – although the flight was delayed for an hour. Our boy was so sleepy and he dozed off the moment the flight took off.

I’m well-fed and well-rested for the past two days. Sleep 12 hours a day, eat, eat and eat. My mom is making all the nutritious soups for me. And my dad bought me a lot of durians!

I enjoy the quality time with Little Edison and taking a break from work. Most importantly, the purpose of this trip is to see my newly arrived niece, Baby Khloe! She is such an adorable darling!

Will share more pictures when I get back! Blogging from my iPhone now…

Two weeks ago, after my endoscopic sinus surgery, I was feeling terribly down with my hair. For the whole week, I didn’t get a good hair wash and care. As a result, my hair was dull, oily, lifeless and hard to manage. Due to its length, I also started to have split ends.

So, when I woke up last Wednesday morning, I was so desperate to have a haircut. I told V to send me to the salon after my post-operation check-up at Gleneagles Hospital. Thankfully, the check-up was completed on-time and V drove me to The Heeren after that.

It was my first visit to Shunji Matsuo Hair Studio. Prior to my visit, I’ve read numerous good reviews about this salon. Kaoru and Cha are the two Korean hairstylists that were raved the most in forums. Unfortunately, both of them were not around on that day.

I was introduced to Lilian, one of the directors in the salon. I had a chat with her; she is a really nice lady. Very pretty too! I told her what was wrong with my hair and that I was desperate to cut it real short. She recommended a concave bob cut with long side-swept bangs for me. And I said, “Okay, go ahead!”

I’ve been keeping my hair long for the past eight years. It’s time for a change, and I was so eager to try a short hairstyle this time. I want a hairstyle that is easy to maintain.

After a professional hair cut, wash and blow drying, I was very happy with the results. Lilian also shared with me some tips to keep my hair healthy and in shape. Honestly, I really appreciate that they didn’t try to convince me to buy their hair care products or sign-up for any expensive hair care treatment package.

In addition, their price list is very transparent. You know what to expect the moment you’re seated. Most salons nowadays don’t publish their exact prices. They will indicate the lower amount, i.e. from $90 onwards, on their price list. At the end, they will charge twice or thrice the amount depending on the hair lengths.

Because of the above reasons, I will definitely patronize them again. I intend to visit the salon next month for hair color – hopefully before the Chinese New Year.

I highly recommend them too!

This is a rather outdated post. I meant to post it in early Dec, but I was tied-up with so many works and appointments. Today is the day when I’m feeling most free in December. I cleared all my office works this afternoon and I’ll be off now till 3 Jan 2012. Yippee!

The bouncy castle was back at Changi Airport Terminal 3 early this month. It was our boy’s favourite, definitely! We bring him to the airport for dinner on weekends whenever we can. After dinner, he will look forward to a bouncy good time at this giant inflatable castle.

This bouncy castle is well-patronized by a lot of children. Admission is free for Changi Rewards card members. Otherwise, you just need to present a receipt of any amount at the counter. Play time is limited to ten minutes for a group of about 20 children. Several airport staffs are stationed here to ensure safety of the children.

This month, there are a lot of Christmas promotions at Changi Airport. I must say that I’m very impressed with their marketing team and staffs for organizing all the events, activities, sales and promotions that have attracted an overwhelming amount of visitors to the airport.

My favourite promotion this month is the Angry Bird plush toy collectibles. From 1 Dec till 31 Jan, visitors can redeem a different plush toy every week with $50 spend by VISA (or $80 by other means) in the Public Area. I’m going to collect them all definitely.

V quips that our shelves are mostly full with other plush toys that I bought. He simply couldn’t understand why these Angry Bird plush toys are so attractive to me. And his next project will be finding a place for me to put these Angry Bird plush toys. I got seven of them so far!

I got 7 of them now – 3 Red, 2 Yellow and 2 Green…

Last but not least, we’ve hit our target of 4000 Changi Rewards points this year (that is equivalent to $4000 dollar spent at Changi this year). With this, we can redeem $200 Changi Airport dollar vouchers. Hopefully, the rewards point will continue in year 2012 as it’s definitely the most rewarding way to shop and dine in the airport.

Before I end my post today, I’d like to wish you and your family a MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I think it’s safe to say that I just had the worst week of the year. And I hope that it’s really over now.

I went for my operation last Wednesday and was discharged the next day. Although the operation was a success, my disease is still not completely cured and the postoperative pain started to kick-in two days after the operation.

This operation is called a functional endoscopic sinus surgery – one of the most common types of surgery for chronic sinus disease. It’s performed using a small endoscope inserted through the nostrils. It’s minimally invasive, which means that it is done without an open incision. So, I can expect a speedy recovery after the operation.

Prior to the operation, I was a bit frightened when I learnt that the most serious risks associated with this surgery are brain damage and blindness, albeit very rare. I tried my best to stop negative thoughts from popping up in my head. Despite his busy work schedule, V went to numerous temples to pray for my safety.

During this low period of my life, V has been extra patient and caring to me. He bought presents to cheer me up. He takes care of all the house chores so that I have ample rest. He waited outside the operating theatre and he assured me countless times that he will not leave until I’m safely pushed out from the OT.

I’m so lucky to have a fantastic hubby like him… and family members who are so concerned about me. Thank you everyone for your well wishes and prayers. I’m feeling much better today and will resume work this Thursday.

In less than 24 hours, I’ll be admitted to Gleneagles Hospital for an operation. Yes, I know that this is too sudden.

It started two weeks ago when I discovered a small growth (the size of two red beans combined) in my right nostril. I consulted a GP, and he referred me to an ENT specialist for further examination.

Last week, I made a trip to an ENT specialist clinic at Gleneagles Hospital. The video nasoendoscopy revealed that the growth is a nasal polyps. For a complete diagnosis, I also went for a CT scan on my sinuses.

The CT scan revealed “something” that is quite unusual on my left nostril. The infection actually started on my left nostril and it pushed the nasal polyps to the right. The ENT specialist confirmed that an operation is needed to remove the nasal polyps and infection. He will also take specimens for further examination.

I agreed to go for an operation as soon as possible even though there is a small risk involved. No operation is 100% risk-free; I’ll rather not talk about it here.

I’ll be away for a few days. Will be right back when I get better.
