How long does your skincare routine take everyday? How many products do you use on a daily basis? Are they effective? I like asking these questions and checking out people’s skincare routine.
And I’d love to share with you my skincare routine too.
My morning routine is generally quick and easy as we’re always in a rush to school. I wash my face with Kose Sekkisei Supreme Washing Cream. Then, I wipe my face with Beaute de Kose Ultimation Clear Softener Softening Serum (wow, what a mouthful!). The purpose of this serum is to remove accumulated keratin cells and prevent clogged pores.
Next, I apply my toner – Kose Sekkisei Supreme Refining Lotion, followed by Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion for hydration. If my face is dry, I’ll dab on a small amount of Kose SEKKISEI SUPREME Moisturizer. But most of time, I skip my moisturizer because Hada Labo SHA is really hydrating.
Do you notice something important is missing from my morning routine? Yes, you’re right! It’s the sun block. My face doesn’t like having sun block on it, and it tends to get oily too. Thus, I use Kose Sekkisei Supreme Make-Up Base SPF25/PA+ that helps to even out skin tone as well as blocks UV rays and prevents dark spots. I finish off with Kose Sekkisei Supreme Powder Foundation SPF20/PA++.
As you can see, I’m using a lot of Kose Sekkisei Supreme products. They’re really good, I must say.

This month, I noticed that Little Edison is striving to take control of all his activities. When I call him to come in, he will runs away laughing and hoping that I will chase after him. When we want him to get dressed before we go out, he decides on which shirt and pants to wear for the outing. When we serve him with fruits cut into bite-size and a fork, he chooses to eat with his fingers. And the list goes on…
A big part of toddler development is to learn to be independent, I understand. But sometimes, independence also caused him to behave in inappropriate ways too. Here are a few examples:
Incident #1:
Little Edison asked for a bottle of Yakult. I told him not to drink because he still have minor cough. He refused to listen and he walked to the kitchen. He opened the fridge and took a bottle of Yakult. Then, he opened the kitchen drawer and took a straw. He put the straw into the Yakult and started sipping happily. I looked at him in dismay. He is now tall enough to reach all handles and doors in our house.
Incident #2:
Last night, I told our helper to go to Shop N Save (opposite our block) to buy a loaf of bread. Little Edison wanted to tag along but I gave him a stern NO. He made a big fuss when I ignored him totally. The angry ME opened the door and asked him to go down himself. Much to my surprise, this little daredevil quickly put on his slippers, walked out of our house and right into the lift – ready to press the lift button to go down! I rushed out to hold him back. Otherwise, I strongly believe he will walk to Shop N Save all by himself.
My question now is – how should I handle this little daredevil who is so stubborn and refuse to listen? What approach should I use?

Looking at the mirror, I realized that I’ve aged a lot. I have laugh lines (or the so-called crow’s feet) around my eyes. I have fine lines on my forehead and brown spots on my face. I’m so pathetic.
I’ve been fraught with oily and acne-prone skin since young. From my teenage years till early twenties, I had big, red and pus-filled pimples. I was skeptical about trying new products due to my sensitive skin. When I was studying in the university, I didn’t have much money to invest in good skincare products to treat my acne problem.
When I started my first job, I visited a dermatologist to treat my skin problem. I tried all sorts of acne-treatment, from Roaccutane to chemical peel and IPL. After a few years, I’ve finally grown out of this acne problem. I hated it so much, it was so depressing.
Well, that was the past. I hope that Little Edison will not inherit my acne-prone skin type. Daddy V has better complexion. He doesn’t even use a face wash and yet, he seldom have break-out. The world is so unfair.
Anyway, I’ll put a stop to acne problem here. It’s NOT what I’m going to talk about today. What I really want to talk about is collagen supplement.
So, what exactly is collagen? You may be wondering. Collagen is a protein and is found in all body parts including our skin. Together with soft keratin, the collagen and elastin fibers are responsible for the strength and elasticity of the skin. It also helps in repair and regeneration, making the skin firm and supple.
As we age, our store of collagen starts to decrease and this leads to aging and accompanying wrinkles. Our face is not the only one impacted, but the skin on our body will gradually lose its elasticity too and presence of cellulite would be more visible. Our hair may start to lose its shine and elasticity. That is why I’m so keen to start my collagen supplement now.
The usual benchmark is 5,000mg of collagen daily. One tablespoon of Meiji’s Amino Collagen contains 5,000mg – it is just nice! Meiji’s Amino Collagen was one of the best-selling beauty and health products in Singapore last year. It is selling like hot cakes in Japan with 10 million cans since its introduction.
I bought this bundle pack at Watson’s last weekend. 1 can + 1 refill pack + 3 bottled drink at $119. I had my first try yesterday. I add one tablespoon of Amino Collagen into a glass of water. Then, I add one teaspoon of Manuka honey to sweeten it. I stir it gently until all the collagen and honey are fully dissolved.
Little Edison watched me as I gulped down my collagen drink. It tastes a bit funny though. Tonight, I’ll try to add it into fruit juice.
More about Meiji Amino Collagen coming up next week. Stay tuned! ?

Few days ago, my brother-in-law Kenneth asked me if we have started planning for Little Edison’s 3rd birthday. Initially, my respond was like “Huh? So fast?” When I think of it again, his third birthday is just three months from now.
Yay! My little baby is turning THREE soon. It didn’t seem like such a long time ago that he was a baby whose cheeks smelled like cottage cheese. I watch him growing up day by day. He has blossomed into a bright little boy who continually amazes me each day with his insatiable curiosity, independence and love for learning.
It is incredible to witness how much his speech progresses each day. Everyday, he will hug me and say “I love Mama!” He may not be aware of how much these three words mean to me. My heart melts every time I hear these words.
Except being a fussy eater, Little Edison is generally an easy child to care for. His fussy eating behavior used to drive me to the edge of madness. I was constantly worried about his size, his weight and not-eating enough. But at some point, I realized that this fussy eating phase is common in children. He will grow out of this phase soon.
There is nothing wrong being petite. As long as he is growing up fit and healthy, I know I’m on the right track.
This is my little boy at 2 years and 9 months old.

I’ve been using this cream for a month now, and here is my review ?
How I use this cream?
I use it as my night cream, replacing SK-II skin refining treatment. After face wash, I wipe my face with Beauty de Kose Ultimation Clear Softener, a fantastic product to prevent clogged pores. Then, I apply my toner and Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion. After the lotion dries up, I apply Vitacreme B12 as the final step.
The texture of this cream is very smooth and light. It is pink in color, and it has a light floral scent. Quite a pleasant smell, I would say. It works best when we massage the cream onto our face. I found the step-by-step massage technique from the internet to share with you.
This cream can also be used as day cream or make-up base. I tried using it during the day, but it tends to make my skin feels greasy after a few hours. Perhaps, it’s due to my oily skin. Thus, I stopped using it as day cream and I only use it at night.
After using this cream for the first week, I had a mini break-out! I spotted three zits near my chin area. I couldn’t be sure whether it is due to the cream or my menstruation. As a result, I stopped using it until my menstruation was over and the zits are cleared.
Two weeks later, I gave it a second try. This time, I only use it at night. I’ve been using it consistently as my night cream for one month now. I’m glad to say that I see visible improvement in skin smoothness, hydration and elasticity. Fine lines are gradually diminished too. It didn’t break me out this time.
I love the feeling after I wash my face in the morning. My skin feels so soft and dewy. It is a wonderful moisturizer, it really hydrates my skin. However, if I were to compare this cream to SK-II skin refining treatment, this cream doesn’t help much in shrinking my pores.
All in all, I feel that this Swiss product really worth a try. Considering the many benefits that it can offer, this cream is only priced at SGD40+. Very affordable. As I only use it once a day, one tube can lasts me for at least 4 months. I will continue to use it in long-term, hopefully I can see more dramatic improvements on my skin.
Note: If you missed out my earlier post on Vitacreme B12, please check it out HERE.
