As they say, time flies when you’re having fun. How true! It’s Day 5 already – we were half way through our 9D tour. On the contrary, I feel like I’m taking forever to blog about this vacation and by the time I complete my last post, I could be packing up for another vacation. ^__^
Nonetheless, I’m determined to complete this series as I want to document all my beautiful memories here. As I’ve said, this is one of my best vacations and I really love Korea! 🙂
As an introduction, YongPyong (Dragon Valley) Resort is a ski resort in South Korea, located in Daegwallyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do. It’s the oldest commercial ski resort, having opened in the early seventies, and is one of the biggest in the country. There is a lot of mountains to enjoy, with beautiful natural landscapes from the sky.

YongPyong Resort is also a popular tourist spot attracting Winter Sonata’s fans all year round. Although the drama was aired more than 10 years ago, it is said to have started the first Hallyu wave in 2002. I watched Winter Sonata, and till now, it’s still one of the most unforgettable Korean dramas I’ve ever watched.
YongPyong will be hosting the skiing events for the 2018 Winter Olympics and 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang.
We had our breakfast at the hotel café before we embarked in a gondola at Dragon’s Plaza. We jumped onto the gondola and headed up to Dragon’s Peak – the summit and highest point of the resort. It took 20 minutes to travel up to the peak (most scenic part of the resort) in the gondola with a length of 3.7km.
The weather was again crisp, so we were able to enjoy the picturesque view as we travelled up to Dragon’s Peak.
We were truly excited when we reached Dragon’s Peak. The scenery was simply breathtaking. It was cold and windy even during the beginning of summer, I couldn’t imagine how cold it will be when it’s covered with snow during winter.
