Digital Scrapbooking

Making ScrapbookThis is a continuation from yesterday’s post.

Scrapbooking is one of the most creative and enjoyable ways to keep childhood memories. Traditional scrapbooking can be slow; we need a lot of supplies i.e. glue, paper, stickers, scissors etc and a big table space to work on. With the advent of the Internet and computer, scrapbooking is a whole lot easier!

Digital scrapbooking is the process of utilizing the latest in electronic technology to create scrapbook pages. It allows us to create electronic books that are loaded with different colors, fonts, banners, and images such as photos and drawings. We can share the scrapbook easily with others while retaining control of the original copy.

There is virtually no limit on the elements that can be added into a page. The pages can be configured with a wide range of backgrounds and colors, with different types of decorative borders and visual elements. We can also add text captions to it.

Once the digital scrapbook is completed, the entire book can be uploaded to a website that allows visitors to view it. It is also possible to e-mail the finished product to the company for printing and binding. The end product is a spectacular-looking magazine-like photo album.

There are many digital scrapbooking and photo collage softwares that we can download from the internet. I’m using Shutterfly Studio to make photo collages for my blog and Photobook for my scrapbook. Photobook is pretty easy to use; it has pre-made templates for us to choose. All we have to do is drag and drop the photos onto the templates.

Photobook is now having a promotion. Order any book and we can get a duplicate copy for free. The last promotion was in January 09. Back then, I was planning to make my second photobook. But somehow I missed the deadline and that photobook was put on KIV status.

This offer is valid until April 30, 2009 at 11:59 PDT. I’ll have plenty of time to restart my second photobook.
