Big Sweet Land – Part 2

Continues from previous post…

How this machine works?

There are two buttons. Press the button on the left (blue); it will lower the scoop to lift up the items (sweets, snacks or even small toys) before it goes up to its original position.

Press the button on the right (pink); it will release the items in the scoop onto the trays. The upper tray will move forward and push the items into the hatch. As the items drop into the hatch, it will hit the ‘checker’ counter and it will increase the bars to hit the jackpot.

The items that fall into the hatch will be your winning! If you hit the jackpot, you will get a giant prize from the machine.

How much is the game?

Its $2 for three games or $1 for one game. The machine accepts only $1 coin. If you run out of coins, you can approach the arcade staff for exchange.

How to hit the Jackpot?

Every time when ‘checker’ counter is hit, there will be a “wheel of fortune”. You will either get 1, 2, 3 or JP. If you get 1, your bar will be increased by 1. If you get 2 or 3, your bar will be increased by 2 or 3. And if you get “JP” (means Jackpot), you will win immediately.

Secondly, look for the bars. The bars will increase as you play along. When the bars are full and reached the “JP”, this means you hit the jackpot.

When you hit the Jackpot, the giant prize (on top) will drop and there is music from the machine. You can exchange it with other giant prizes in the machine if you don’t like the one that you’ve won. Simply approach the arcade staff to do the exchange for you.

Additional tips to share – you’ve to read this!

When there are too little items to catch, the chances of winning is slim. Sometimes you can even see the base of the machine. If this happens, you can approach the arcade staff to top-up the sweets and snacks.

Always choose a good seat where the tray is already full. You should also check the bar on the jackpot. The higher the bar, the chances of winning is greater.

Wait for the right time to scoop. Check the timing and start to lower the scoop when the hill of sweets is approaching. When there are many big items together, it may be very challenging to scoop them because if their weight. They tend to fall-off before the scoop moves up.

I always aim for small soft toys. Reason – they are light and easier to scoop up. They are also bigger in size, so they can help to push the sweets down to the hatch.

Wait for the right position to release the sweets from the scoop. If I have big items on the scoop, I will release them onto the lower tray so that they can help to push more sweets into the hatch. But don’t wait too long, because the machine will automatically release the sweets for you.

Finally, observe other players and learn some tips from them. And of course, practice makes perfect!

It’s a simple game, but it can be quite addictive too. We haven’t hit the jackpot yet, and we’re still trying. After every game, we leave the arcade with bags of sweets and snacks. Now, we have too many sweets and snacks in our kitchen. I seriously have no idea on how to dispose them.

Our winning last weekend…

After sorting them out – sweets, snacks, peanuts and small toys, this is how they look like… Do you want any sweets? Hehe!

Wow..Did you win all that yourself? Gee. that is cool! But then, I read in a report that not to bring the kids to such places too often as they will get addicted to the games and the noise is not good for their ears 🙂

Hi yeejia,
My hubby is the one playing. I felt guilty bringing Little Edison to the arcade too, it’s a negative influence. We r trying to cut down on this. But this arcade in Changi T3 is not very noisy and congested like those in shopping malls.
