Short Holiday

I’ve been working out some basic planning, holiday ideas and preliminary itineraries on a short holiday for the three of us. V has a lot of annual leave to clear, so he suggested for a long holiday to Gold Coast Australia instead.

However, after much considerations regarding travelling time, the difficulties involved in me taking leave for more than a week at this time of the year etc, we decided to go for a short holiday in a nearby country. I’m also skeptical if Little Edison can handle flight duration of more than seven hours.

During our last trip to Hong Kong, he became restless after one hour on the flight. He walked up and down the aisle, talked to the other passengers and air crews, made funny faces etc. So, I don’t really look forward to taking long flight with him.

Furthermore, I’m also mindful of how far he can walk. If we join a group tour, the itineraries will be full packed, leaving us with minimal time to eat and rest (considering that he still need an hour of afternoon nap). If we go free & easy, this means that we have to walk and travel on the road even more. Either way, it’s going to be taxing for Little Edison.

So, we decided to postpone our long holiday until next year. By then, our boy will be 5 years old and it should be easier for him to travel long distance. Hopefully.

Back to our plan for short holiday, the list of potential places includes Batam, Bintan, Phuket and Genting Highlands. V is not keen with Indonesia. We’ve been to Phuket before. So, we decided to go with Genting Highlands this time round.

Resorts World Genting

The place is child-friendly with indoor and outdoor amusement parks. I guess Little Edison will like it too. As for me, I like the cool weather and fresh air up the mountain. V is looking forward to the casino as there is no entrance levy.

We went to Five Star travel agency to book our coach tickets and hotel accommodation. The price of $88 per pax for 3D2N is indeed very attractive. I upgraded the hotel room from the tiniest to the largest and the coach from SVIP (26 seaters) to Executive (20 seaters). So, the final amount came to about $200 per pax.

We will be heading to Resorts World Genting tomorrow. Will share more pictures when we get back.
