The June School Holiday is coming!

May 21, 2014

I’ve never been so excited about school holiday since I left school many many years ago. But this year since our boy started Primary 1, I feel the excitement about school holiday all over again.

For the next one month, I don’t need to wake up at 5:30am. I don’t need to rush home to practice spelling and ting xie. I don’t need to panic over tests and assessments. I don’t need to rush home on Sunday night. And we can watch TV until midnight!

Moms with primary school kids, I’m sure you can relate to this. Next month is going to be exciting!

We’ve booked our vacation to Japan next month, and I’m so looking forward to it. The last time I went to Japan was 7 years ago and with a pregnant belly. I told Little Edison that he was in Japan too when he was 4 months old inside my belly.

Then, he asked “Did we eat a lot of sushi?” (Yes, he loves sushi!)

“Yes, we ate a lot of yummy Japanese food. We went to Disneyland and Universal Studios too, but I couldn’t try the rides because you’re in my belly.”

I tried to recall and share with him as much details as possible. That was my first trip to Disneyland and I totally fell in love with it. So we made a pact that we’ll be back one day with Little Edison to experience the magical Disneyland in Tokyo.

And finally, we go for it this year.

This trip is going to be the easiest and most stress-free because we’re going by package tour. All we need to do is to make payment to the travel agency, pack our luggage and that’s it!

Last year, we went to Gold Coast on our own. We spent the entire month planning for the trip and it was so time-consuming. So, this year, we will take the easy way and let the travel agency handles everything.

The holiday is less than a month away. I’m so excited. I can’t wait!
