The Haven Resort Hotel Ipoh is an award-winning five-star luxury resort hotel in Ipoh, set naturally by limestone hills, forests and lake. Located a stone’s throw away from Ipoh’s Sultan Azlan Shah Airport, it makes a perfect venue for a fun and relaxing escape.
With Malaysia’s proximity, attractive exchange rate, delicious food, and great shopping options, Singaporeans often travel across the causeway for short breaks. Malacca, Penang, KL, JB and Cameron Highlands are the popular destinations, but Ipoh is a true gem that many have yet to discover.
As some of you may have already know, I came from Ipoh. Last week, I went back to my hometown and I stayed at The Haven Resort Hotel Ipoh with my family. I had the most amazing vacation with my family (along with my parents, siblings, nieces and nephew). The Haven Resort Hotel Ipoh is certainly one of the MOST beautiful resorts I’ve ever stayed.
Now, let me give you a glimpse of what you can expect at this family-friendly resort with magnificent scenery! 😀
Getting to The Haven Resort Hotel Ipoh
The easiest and fastest way to get to Ipoh is definitely by air. Direct flights from Ipoh – Singapore are offered by two airlines – Firefly and Tiger Airways. The cheapest one-way flights are usually available on Wednesday. The flight duration is approx. 1 hour 15 mins.
You can request for Shuttle Service from The Haven Resort Hotel Ipoh to bring you to the resort. The duration is just 20 mins. Alternatively, there are a handful of taxis available at Ipoh airport – just make sure you ask for the price and agreed to it before you board it.
The Haven Resort Hotel Ipoh is the most luxurious development in Ipoh that comprises 3 towers, each 26-storey high, with 512 units of high-end luxury suites. The suites consist of designer finishes with various sizes from 1-bedroom to 3+1 bedroom. The resort also boasts 8-level security, 5-star facilities, and 5-star operation by The Haven Premier.
We stayed in a 2+1 Bedroom Lakeview suite that comes with 3 bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen, 1 Sofa Bed), living room, dining area, kitchenette, balcony and 2 bathrooms. It can accommodate up to 6 guests.
The moment we stepped into the suite, we were SO impressed with its spaciousness. It is approx. 1180 sq. ft. (obviously bigger than my own apartment!), very clean and well-maintained. The interior is modern, yet cosy and well-designed in terms of functionality.
Suite facilities include satellite channels, flat-screen TV, safety deposit box, toiletries, refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle, induction cooker, iron, hair-dryer, bath robes, mini bar, and complimentary high-speed WIFI.
Now, I just have to brag about the spacious master bedroom. It features an incredible en-suite bathroom with standing rain shower and a huge corner bath tub. It’s also equipped with flat screen TV.
I super loved the huge balcony that is facing the limestone hill, lake and their signature 5-level infinity pool. It runs the full length of the living and dining hall, perfect for enjoying the panoramic views and clear crisp mountain air.
Edison, on the other hand, was extremely thrilled with the huge bath tub! Plus, he was SO excited to have his own room too! Even the two bedrooms have great views of the resort’s lush greeneries. Complimentary breakfast is also provided.
This suite certainly surpassed all our expectations. 🙂
Resort’s Highlights & Facilities
The moment we arrived at the resort, we were totally in awe with its breath-taking views of nature. We stayed here for 3 nights, and there’s something to do here every day whether it’s sports or some quiet time listening to nature and absorbing the magnificent scenery.
1. 5-Level Sea-Horse Shaped Infinity Pool
The resort features an amazing 5-level sea-horse shaped infinity pool with a Jacuzzi, leisure pool, lap pool, children’s pool with slide, and wading pool. With kind of combinations, this pool is perfect for everyone in the family.
What’s more – the pool is surrounded by natural limestone hills, beautiful rainforest, lake, and all-year round sunshine!
2. Rockhaven and lush greeneries
Rockhaven, the 280-million-year-old limestone outcrop, greets visitors from every corner of the resort. Looking equally stunning in the day and at night, it’s certainly the centrepiece of the resort. No one can resist the natural pristine surroundings of the resort. Therefore, I’d say that this is truly the “wow factor” of the resort.
3. A Year-Round Pleasure Playground
The Haven Resort Hotel Ipoh is full of activities for guests of all ages. A fully-equipped gym, 600m jogging tracks, picnic grounds, badminton and squash courts, table tennis room, ballroom and conference facilities, an amphitheatre, swimming pool, and indoor & outdoor children’s playground are all the facilities you can enjoy in this resort.
4. Flora & Fauna
The Haven Resort Hotel Ipoh is blessed with a variety of habitats, both natural and man-made, including aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. These habitats support a multitude of animal life ranging from small invertebrates to large vertebrates.
5. Great Food
There’s only one restaurant in this resort. Located at the clubhouse, Cuisines Restaurant serves buffet breakfast, lunch as well as dinner with a menu offering Asian, Western and Mediterranean cuisine with strong focus on healthy, wholesome food at affordable prices.
In 2016, the restaurant was awarded the Luxury Hotel Restaurant (Malaysia) at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards. The chefs go to the market daily to source for fresh food. Only natural ingredients are used with NO MSG at all!
