Furama RiverFront Hotel Staycation Review: Fun Kid-Themed Staycation

July 12, 2017July 26, 2020

Looking for a staycation package that is thoughtfully-designed with families in mind? What about a colourful themed hotel room with bunk bed, XBOX games, kid’s toiletries and bath robes, outdoor inflatable water bouncy castle, spacious play area, and complimentary buffet dinner for the entire family? Sounds fantastic, isn’t it? Now, I shall give you an overview of our recent staycation at Furama RiverFront Hotel that checks all the boxes.  🙂

Furama RiverFront Hotel Staycation Review

This is, by far, one of the most memorable staycations we’ve ever had. We were SO impressed with the exciting kids-friendly activities lined up for families. It’s more than just a hotel staycation, we experienced an ultimate kid’s fun all day in the heart of our city. ^___^

Here are 5 things that we absolutely LOVED about our staycation:

1. The Beautiful Themed Hotel Room with Bunk Bed and XBOX games

Trust me, bunk bed is always a HUGE HIT for kids. We stayed in a Castle-themed room that comes with a bunk bed (single on top, queen at the bottom, and a pull-out bed too). As you can see, the room can easily accommodates 4 persons. And still, it’s so spacious for the kids to play in the room.

The theme room is equipped with kids-friendly furniture, kid’s toiletries and bath robes (including a step stool for younger kids), as well as bath tub. Most importantly, it also comes with an XBOX game console, where games can be loaned from the reception lobby. Three themed rooms available at the hotel – Castle, Pirates and Underwater.

To top it off, the hotel offers complimentary packets of milk and Milo for kids before bedtime (thanks for being so thoughtful!) as well as soft drinks in mini bar.

2. The Inflatable Water Bouncy Castle

The hotel swimming pool is often the star attraction, but over at Furama RiverFront Hotel, there’s an outdoor inflatable water bouncy castle that doubles the fun!

3. Complimentary Buffet Dinner at The Square@Furama or Kintamani Indonesian Restaurant

I’m SO glad that the hotel includes complimentary buffet dinner for the entire family in their staycation package. That’s why I said it is value-for-money as you can easily spend S$100+ for buffet dinner elsewhere.

We chose to dine at The Square @ Furama. On top of the international buffet spread, there’s a play area called Tykes with toys, activity sheets and cartoon screenings that is perfect to occupy the kids so that parents can take their time to enjoy their meal.

The restaurant offers a good mix of Western, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine to fit the diverse taste buds – fresh prawns, seafood, sashimi, sushi, and a wide variety of local dishes such as chilli crab (yum yum!), roast pork, steamed fish, etc.

4. Play Areas Everywhere

#FURAMAKIDS staycation package comes with a free play session at Waka Waka by The Polliwogs Annex@Furama. There’s also a free play area, PAWS, at Level 1 of the hotel which is suitable for kids below 11 years old. The play area is equipped with LEGO bricks, building blocks, wooden toys and also a trampoline.

My Verdict

Furama RiverFront Hotel may not be a top choice for a luxury escape, but it’s certainly a great choice for a fun family-friendly and value-for-money staycation. We simply couldn’t resist the colourful themed room with a wide range of activities for everyone. The buffet dinner at The Square is so tantalising and completes our staycation with a bang.  🙂
