Wild Wild Wet at Downtown East: Singapore’s Best Water Theme Park

Wild Wild Wet is located at Downtown East, a fantastic leisure and lifestyle destination in the east of the island. This was our second visit to the water park, and we were totally amazed with its significant makeover and expansion! It has also added two adrenaline-pumping water rides – the Royal Flush and Free Fall.

As much as we’re excited to check out the new rides, the weather has not been on our side. The sky was cloudy and I was very sure it would rain within 2 hours. So, I was contemplating whether to bring my camera. V shook his head, obviously telling me to keep my camera in the locker.

We had a blast at the water park even though it was drizzling. It was a pity that I couldn’t take any pictures on that day – but thankfully, I managed to get some media pictures to share with you on this post.

If you’re visiting Wild Wild Wet with kids, you’d most probably be spending the most time at Professor’s Playground. With no minimum height requirement, kids can splash to their heart’s content while parents can relax in the huge Jacuzzi. You can find slides, ladders, water cannons and fountains here.

Be sure to look out for the gigantic bucket of water that pours down at timed intervals! When Edison was much younger, he was SO afraid of the water bucket. Now, he loves it so much. Whenever he hears the tinkling sound (indication that the bucket is about to pour down), he will quickly run towards it.

Kidz Zone – pint-sized versions of the big rides

Your older kids will probably enjoy the Kidz Zone more. This new attraction is truly a kids’ water paradise, and I’d say it is just like a pint-sized versions of the big rides! Honestly, I admit I’m quite timid when it comes to thrilling rides. So, I enjoyed myself with the kid-sized water slides so much LOL. Best thing is – parents can enjoy the slides together with their kids at Kidz Zone.

Your younger kids won’t be left out either as there is a dedicated shallow sloshing area with water jets, sprays and play structures at Splash Play and Yippee. Perfect for introducing your little ones to water play.

Now, you can find this ride in almost all water theme park – the lazy river where you can snooze in a tube and go with the flow. Spanning 335 metres in length, Shiok River skirts the perimeter of the park, it’s the perfect way to recharge before going for another thrilling ride.

If you ask me what my favourite ride in this water park is, THIS IS IT! Tsunami (the wave pool) combines the best of swimming pool and the sea to give you the excitement of the surf under controlled conditions. The water depth is 1.8m. Life jackets are provided, so please ensure that your kids are properly fitted with one before venturing into the deeper section of the wave pool.

I also enjoyed the Jacuzzi a lot. It’s like love at first dip to me LOL! I just sank into the bubbly waters and let the water jets worked their magic on my tired body. Arghh! It’s heavenly – especially after hours of running around and playing in the park.

Royal Flush

Now, for the dare devils (me excluded!), you’ll certainly be thrilled with the two latest additions – the Royal Flush and Free Fall. Royal Flush is the signature ride that combines the Behemoth Bowl (all time popular bowl ride) and the newest Tornado Wave.

Max 4 pax per raft, you can experience a unique ride where you drop into the bowl, making one full round and go into another drop where you’ll ride up a curved wall, get suspended in a moment of zero gravity feel before moving onto the exit path. AHHH! I freaked out just by reading this!

Want to challenge yourself for another adrenalin rushing ride? Try the Free Fall! You can experience on your back in an almost vertical drop, fast and straight extreme plummet, where you can reach a speed of up to 50 ft/sec! This is definitely the scariest ride of all. I stood there for 3 mins, observing those who slide down SO fast like a rocket, and my knees felt like jelly!

Other thrilling rides in the park include Torpedo, Ular Lah and Waterworks. The first raft slide in Southeast Asia, Ular-lah is a super flume ride best enjoyed with friends and family as you ride the adrenalin-pumping rapids down to a splashing finish.

Cabana

Now, I’m SO glad that the water park offers Cabana rental. Price starts from just $70 for public and $60 for NTUC Plus! and Wild & Wet Premium Members for a full day rental. If you’re looking to have some privacy or a place to chill out with family/friends or simply a quiet area for your kids to nap, a cabana is truly a gem. It also includes premium WiFi, a locker cabinet, rental towels and fancy float, a snack platter and drinks.

Fancy floats with a variety of whimsy designs such as unicorn, flamingo and pizza slice are also available for rental. So, get ready your camera for some Instagram-worthy moments with these fancy floats.

I’m also surprised to find that the park offers towel rental service (extra points for being so thoughtful!). If you’re too lazy to pack or just want to travel light, simply rent the towels at just $3.58 per person.

Last but not least, here’s a money-saving tip for you. Buy your tickets online and save $1 off the admission fee. Also don’t forget to check-out the latest deals on Wild Wild Wet website. Currently, they are having a Weekdays Cabana Bundle Offer. For just $85 (public) and $63 (member), you can get 2 Adults Day Pass and a Bubbles cabana rental. Every Wednesday, you can also enjoy 1-for-1 with OCBC Credit/Debit Card. Too many deals NOT to be missed!

Final Word

Honestly, we enjoyed ourselves more at Wild Wild Wet than Adventure Cove. I find that it’s more suitable for families with younger kids. There is something for everyone, and it’s certainly one of the BEST family-friendly attractions in Singapore.

At Wild Wild Wet, safety is their top priority and there are free life jackets available for everyone as well as baby water carriers and specially-designed inflatable floats. Lifeguards are on duty almost everywhere.

I also noticed that the shower area is very spacious and clean with plenty of shower cubicles. I didn’t even need to queue! There’s also a dedicated kids’ shower area outside the adults shower area. Nursing room includes comfortable facilities for diaper changing, nursing and bottle feeding. Plenty of lockers are available for rental too.

All in all, I truly appreciate the kids-friendly facilities prepared by the park. On top of all the FUN, I can spend the entire day with awesome comfort and convenience. We will definitely be back again!
