10 Days in Thailand Bangkok Chiang Mai Itinerary & Trip Report

January 12, 2018January 21, 2019

Sawasdee ka! 😎 We had an amazing time during our 10 days trip to Thailand. We spent 4 days in Chiang Mai before we flew to Bangkok and stayed for another 6 days. Today, I’ll be sharing our 10 days in Thailand Bangkok Chiang Mai itinerary, cost breakdown and some travel tips.

The weather, the food, the tours and the activities have all met our expectations. Perhaps, my only complaint is the super packed BTS – it was MADNESS! I shouldn’t complain about our SMRT any more, hahah! But honestly, I guess it can’t be helped since we were travelling during the peak season.

Travel Tips

1. Thailand (GMT+7) is one hour behind Singapore (GMT+8).

2. At the time of writing, our exchange rate was 1 SGD to 24 Thai Baht. 100 Thai Bath is equivalent to approximately S$4.16.

3. Sales tax, or VAT (Value Added Tax), is 7% on all purchases – for both goods and services.

4. Dress code for religious places: cover up your shoulders, cleavages and legs and no see-through or belly showing clothing. Other prohibited outfits include sleeveless shirts, vest, short top, short pants, torn pants, tight pants, and mini skirts.

5. Power outlets are usually two-prong round or flat sockets. Be sure to pack a universal travel adaptor so you can still use all your electronic gadgets.

6. Money-savings tip! We booked most of our attraction tickets and airport transfers from Klook, which were definitely cheaper than buying directly.

7. Singaporeans can use the automated gates at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport (two automated gates reserved for Singaporeans), so skip the queue!  😉
