Located along Singapore River in the quaint Robertson Quay, Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview is a scenic and family-friendly hotel that attracts a wide range of travellers including staycationers. This is also one of the most budget-friendly properties under the Marriott International chain in Singapore. I was pretty excited to check-in with my family for a much-needed break during the Deepavali long weekend.
Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview was officially opened in 2016 after a refurbishment and rebranding from an existing hotel. Featuring 476 modern guestrooms and suites with contemporary design, guests can enjoy magnificent panoramic city or river views along with an outdoor pool, all-day dining restaurant and gym with steam room.
There are five room types in this property – Deluxe Room, Premium Room, Bedroom Suite, Bedroom Executive Suite and Family Room. We stayed in a Premium Room with Twin Bed. It measures approximately 23sqm with an amazing view of the Singapore River. And here’s how it looks like…
Decorated in muted gray and white tones, the room has a modern design and compact layout. The bright artwork above the headboard brings some colours to the interior. The highlight of the room is its window seat that offers a stunning view of the Singapore River. It also comes with a work desk, flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, iron and coffee-and-tea making facilities.
Now, let’s look at the bathroom. It’s not big but chic and sleek with a bathtub and built-in shower combo. Bath amenities, hair dryer and slippers are provided. Activ Body Care, an exclusive hotel brand for Four Points by Sheraton, are provided in wall-mounted dispensers (feels classy and environmental-friendly too!).
No staycation is complete without a dip in the pool. These days, pool time requires pre-booking as part of the social distancing measures. So, we booked our slot when we check-in. Each session is limited to 5 guests. In addition, the hotel also has a gym and steam room.
If you’re a fan of yoga, you’ll be delighted to hear that there’s a yoga session held every Saturday from 4.30pm to 5.30pm at the outdoor terrace. This is included their STAY. EAT. REFRESH. staycation package. I enjoyed the work-out that includes stretching with pranayama (breathing) and sequences of asanas (yoga postures) led by yoga instructor, Ms Ariel Yeo.
Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview has four dining options. Four Points Eatery, the main restaurant in the property, features an all-day dining concept that serves up a range of signature a la carte eats as well as local and international buffet for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch.
Best Brew is a laid-back lounge-bar with sofa seating – it’s currently closed due to COVID-19. In addition, two independent restaurants are also on-site – Irodori Japanese Restaurant and Imperial Chinese Restaurant, not forgetting room service that is available 24 hours a day.
We dined at Four Points Eatery for the first time. It has indoor and outdoor seating areas. I’m usually not a fan of outdoor (you know, aircon is always good!), but the outdoor area of this restaurant has a nice view and cosy ambience. I loved how the overhead fans keep it cool and comfortable.
The restaurant is currently having 3 promotions:
Mookata with a Riverview
We love mookata so we went to try it out. It was FOOD KING GOOD! The platter comes with a huge variety of food – tiger prawn, marinated pork collar and belly, marinated chicken breast, smoked duck, streaky bacon, crab stick, Thai fish cake, fish ball, sausages, vegetables, Thai instant noodle, egg and vermicelli. Don’t fancy a platter? No problem! You can also order from their ala carte menu.
