Swensen’s Heart of Youth Cake + Giveaway!

The dictionary defines mother as “a female parent” but we all know that she is more than just a parent. She is her children’s best friend. A mother is someone who loves you unconditionally and more than her own life. Mothers are angels in disguise sent from God to watch and help us through our tough times. It’s absolutely true that mother knows best, and she’s usually the first person we turn to when we need the best advice.

We may not have thanked our mothers enough for their love and hard works. Thus, this coming Mother’s Day is the perfect opportunity to let her know how amazing she is. So, if you’re looking for a way to make your mum feel extra special, I have a gift idea you need right here.

As a note of appreciation to all mums out there, Swensen’s presents its unique Mother’s Day creation – the Heart of Youth cake.

What’s so special about this cake, you may wonder. The Heart of Youth cake comes in a beautiful pink heart shape with pearl cream outline, rich flavor blend of Vanilla with Chocolate Fudge chunks, and infused with a healthy dose of Marine Collagen. We all know the anti-aging benefits of collagen, and we sure want to pamper our mums with these anti-aging goodness.

After all, our mums deserve to look beautiful and forever youthful!

Heart of Youth is priced at S$51.00 (excluding GST) and no advanced ordering is required. Available at all Swensen’s and Earle Swensen’s outlets from 23rd April to 10th May 2015 (while stocks last). For more info, please visit Swensen’s website, Facebook and Instagram at:

Christmas Village at Singapore Flyer + Tickets Giveaway!

Christmas Village

Two weeks ago, we were invited to the sneak preview of Christmas Village in the Tropics at Singapore Flyer. From 17 Nov 2012 to 1 Jan 2013, the world’s largest Giant Observation Wheel lights up Christmas with a gleeful line-up of activities and a dazzling spectacle of more than 2 million LED lights.

Christmas Village is a million dollar project that brings visitors through the countryside and village set aglow with over a million bright, energy-saving LED lights adorning gift sheds, buildings and landscape.

A nice family picture, albeit a little too dark

The highlight of this village is the 3-dimentional display of Santa’s Sleigh being pulled by 8 reindeers as it “soars” across the Singapore skyline with The Singapore Flyer as its backdrop. This display has a length of about 20 meters and it’s absolutely gorgeous!

There is also Santa’s Home and Workshop, snowy pine trees with polar bears playing in the snow, Rudolph and friends frolicking in the snow, Golden Pine Trees with huge snowballs and 8 playful gnomes outside a beautiful log house.

Oh, I’m feeling Christmas in November! It’s so exciting and we just couldn’t stop taking pictures of the wonderful decorations, particularly at the outdoor with snowy pine trees, the gnomes and Santa’s reindeers.

“U Picnic” Event at Marina Barrage + Tickets Giveaway

Not many people know that I like picnicking. It is fun, whether at the beach or in a park at a local attraction. We used to picnic quite often when Little Edison was much younger. However, this activity has slowed down this year due to our busy schedules.

Our first picnic attempt was at the Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden. We packed all our food nicely in a picnic basket, we brought a big picnic mat and we were all prepared for a leisurely day out in the sun.

It was a great outing, except one careless mistake that I made. I landed my butts on a colony of ants, which resulted in me being attacked by them! After this incident, I become extra careful in choosing the right location before I lay my picnic mat.

Besides Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden, we also tried picnicking at East Coast Park and Sentosa. Both of them are ideal locations for picnic, except that it can be quite challenging to find a car park space at East Coast Park during the weekend.

Marina Barrage was opened in year 2008, and it’s another exciting venue for picnicking. There is a large open space for the kids to run, fun water play area and a huge open ground for picnic and kite-flying.
