The goal of our family holiday is to have fun, to bond and to reconnect as a family – away from the stress of work, school and daily routines. These are our favourite places to travel and favourite things to do around the world as a family – based on our personal experiences.

As we evaluate more hotels and destinations for family-friendliness, this list will evolve throughout the process. We hope to inspire and provide you with ideas for travel this year or next. Please remember to bookmark this page. 🙂

We paid for most of our trips and hotels mentioned in our blog. We do accept sponsored travel and hotel stay, but it is done without any expectation of positive coverage on the part of the sponsoring organisation. All sponsored hotel stays and tours will be marked as such under the disclosure section at the bottom of our posts.

Thailand has always been my favourite travel destination. It is wallet-friendly, easy to travel around, and full of great food and fun. There are also many attractions that are perfect for families. Good hotels and restaurants are available in major areas and with very reasonable prices. We’ve travelled to many parts of Thailand – Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Pattaya and Phuket. Next one shall be Hua Hin and Khao Yai! 😃

We made our first visit in June 2016 through a travel agency and spent 9 days during summer. We visited Jeju Island (super loved it! 😍), Seoul and Yong Pyong.

Malaysia, my birth country, is definitely my choice for a quick getaway. It is 💯 very easy to travel around Malaysia. There are many budget airlines flying to Malaysia daily, thus it’s very affordable to travel to this country. There is also a great cultural mix, lots of yummy food (very cheap too!) and many family-friendly activities to do.

Hong Kong

I love Hong Kong! Haha! 😆 This was the first country we brought Edison for vacation when he was 3+ years old – it’s very baby-friendly. Hong Kong has been named the world’s most visited city. It’s also a good choice for luxury shopping with a lot more to offer other than mouth-watering dim sum and an impressive skyline.

How do I even begin to describe what it’s like to travel in Japan? 🙄 It is an experience. It surrounds you. Every moment of every day is filled with new discoveries, cultural difference and utter delights. I can’t describe it beyond that, but I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. We’ve been to Tokyo twice and most looking forward to our upcoming Hokkaido winter ☃ vacation.

The choices for travelling Australia are as diverse as the country itself. I’ve only been to Perth, Brisbane and Gold Coast. In 2013, we traveled as a family to Gold Coast for a week and we had so much fun. Even grown-ups like me can have a little make-believe fun at theme parks such as Dreamworld. Its natural beauty, relaxed lifestyle and strong, vibrant and connected community makes it a perfect family holiday destination.

Tangalooma Island Resort – Sep 2013
Gold Coast – Sep 2013

Cruising is our absolute favourite family holiday! We’ve been on-board SuperStar Virgo twice in 2010 and 2012. In 2017, we embarked on an 8-day cruise on Royal Caribbean. Edison was always entertained, happy and I’ve never once heard “I’m bored”.
