South Korea is a very beautiful country; it’s a wonderful mix of bustling, modern cities and calm, picturesque countryside. To start off, my favourite part is definitely Korean dramas! 😜 We made our first visit in June 2016 through a travel agency and spent 9 days during summer. We visited Jeju Island (super loved it!), Seoul and Yong Pyong. Next time, we’ll certainly go on free & easy.
Seoul is easy to get around using the subway. Station names are in English & very foreigner-friendly. We visited Children’s Grand Park Seoul & War Memorial of Korea.
Lotte World Seoul is divided into an indoor Adventure theme and an outdoor Magic Island, next to Seokchonhosu Lake. Lotte World is the largest indoor theme park in the world.
Our itinerary on Day 6 afternoon: Namdaemun Market, Myeong-dong, Korean Ginseng Museum, Hanbok Photo-taking and JUMP Martial Arts Performance Show.
Nami Island, also known as Namiseom, is a tiny half-moon shaped island located in Chuncheon, 63km away from Seoul. The island is famous for its beautiful tree lined roads and stunning scenery. It was made famous by Korean drama Winter Sonata.
Day 5 of our Korea trip was fun as we went up the gondola at YongPyong All Seasons Resort, visited Mount Sorak National Park and Hanwha Waterpia Hotspring.
YongPyong (Dragon Valley) Resort is one of the biggest ski resorts in South Korea. There is a lot of mountains to enjoy with beautiful natural landscapes. It’s also a popular tourist spot attracting Winter Sonata’s fans all year round.
On Day 4 of our Korea vacation, we visited Everland – world’s seventh largest outdoor amusement park and stayed at Yong Pyong All Seasons Resort.
We visited Seongeup Folk Village, Seongsan Sunrise Peak (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Dragon Head Rock, and tried the delicious black pork BBQ for lunch.
Itinerary for Jeju Island: O’Sulloc Green Tea Museum, Glass Castle, Hello Kitty Island, Seongeup Folk Village, Songan Sunrise Peaks, Dragon Head Rock
I couldn’t believe it that I could visit the Descendants of the Sun Special Exhibition at Doota Duty Free on the first day of my tour.
