To The Zoo Again!

After our last visit to the Zoo in June, Little Edison has been bugging us to bring him there again. Apparently, he is looking forward to the water play at Rainforest Kidzworld. We promised to bring him there again, but as usual, work and life got in the way and our little boy has been patiently waiting.

So, V took the membership card from his company again and we went to the zoo last weekend to see the animals and have some water fun.

The weather was perfect that day. In the morning, it was quite cloudy and I was so worried that it will rain. Thankfully, it did not. We made the right decision to rent a motorized scooter. It saves us some time to get from one place to another. It was so much fun riding on this adventure scooter around the zoo. It has a big basket in the front that we can pile up our bags in it.

Me on the Adventure Scooter

We had a lovely time in the zoo, especially our little boy. When he is too tired to walk, he can sit and relax on his pram. When it’s warm, there is a mini fan blowing at him. When it’s too sunny, he gets to wear his daddy’s sunglasses. When he is thirsty or hungry, snacks and drinks are offered instantly.

Pram, sunglasses, fan, water, tidbits, what else do you need, Sir?

I, on the other hand, managed to take some nice pictures because the light was gorgeous.

Giraffe is my favourite animal!

The zebra is cool too!

The tiger is too fierce!

Little Edison loves the rabbit!

V can’t get enough of the crocodile!

We all love Ah Meng!

Little Edison had great FUN!

Rainforest Kidzworld in the Singapore Zoo

I read about the Rainforest Kidzworld on blogs, but this is our very FIRST visit to this special attraction in the Singapore Zoo.

We brought Little Edison and my parents-in-law to visit the Singapore Zoo during the school holidays. It has been more than two years since our last visit.

There is just one word to describe the Rainforest Kidzworld – heaps of FUN! Now, I know why it’s such a hit among children.

As an introduction, Rainforest Kidzworld is a water play area, themed like a wet animal wonderland, in the Singapore Zoo. It’s opened from 9am to 5:30pm. Admission is free with normal zoo admission of S$20.00 per adult and S$13.00 per child of age 3-12 years old.

Little Edison had great fun with the water slides. He was running happily when the bell rang “Ting! Ting! Ting!” He didn’t know what it was. I ran to him quickly to alert him but I was too late. The massive bucket at the top tipped over and the water splashed everywhere. He totally freaked out.

So Mommies, if you’re new to this place, please inform your little ones about this water bucket feature. I find it a little too over-whelming for young children. The rest of the water play area, including the slides, is generally quite safe.

There is a shower facility for adults and children next to the water play area. Hot and cold water cooler can be found in the diaper-changing room too. For a quick bite, head on to the KFC restaurant next to the water play area. This place is simply amazing. And clean too.

After playing in the water for almost an hour, we went for a shower. Refreshed and clean as we continued our visit to the next part of Rainforest Kidzworld. There are ponies, falabellas, goats, bunnies and guinea pigs too!

It was a wonderful day. The good news is we’ll be planning another trip to the Singapore Zoo this month. Little Edison is sure thrilled to hear that.

Have you been to the Rainforest Kidzworld lately? Do you like the place? I love to hear from you too.
